Speculative Renaissance
. . for cello and electronics




The piece was first performed by Jan Willem Troost in 2019, 5 years after I had started writing it. At that moment I had an idea of an atom developing and regenerating itself while skipping through time, or times that I envisioned as noisy clouds.

Each block of music was a jump in time, playing with density and noise I kept re-framing the note, exploding it at times into melodies that degenerate back to a single note again.
